Square Root

 

This was a project I completed whilst undertaking an Msc. The brief was extremely open ended - to solve a world problem. I chose to address the problem of food waste. I worked with environmental scientists and entrepreneurs in a multi discipline team.

 

The concept we finally all agreed on was a small compost bin/greenhouse for use in small gardens and balconies. Food waste would be placed into the bottom drawer, (with worms to speed up the process if the user so desires). The compost can be used to grow herbs in the greenhouse part. Personally I would grow Basil and Coriander, but the customer could even grow flowers if they desired.

 

The greenhouse part can be removed and attached to walls, the customer can buy extra greenhouse parts and cover their walls in them if they wish.
